AMI Primary Guide
My name is Jennifer Dunne and I am excited to welcome you to the Lisbon Montessori Casa Program. I began my role as an educator in 2013 when I discovered Montessori and took a break from work and travel to take the AMI Casa training in Dublin, my home town. It changed my life. I have spent the past six years working as a Casa Guide in Hong Kong, in the largest Montessori School in Asia which has afforded me wonderful opportunities to continue my professional development and refine my teaching practice. I have taken professional training and inspiration from Ruby Lau, Jennifer Shields and the wonderful Alice Waters who developed the Edible Schoolyard program and School Lunch initiative committed to improving nutrition for children in schools across America.
Before becoming a Montessori Guide I studied Music and Philosophy in University and also trained as a classical and computer animator. I love to travel, to immerse myself in music, to investigate the natural world and I am an insatiable reader. Spending my daily life sharing my passions for different cultures, language, nature and music with children makes me incredibly happy.
Montessori asked us to ‘follow the child’ and to present them with the keys to the universe so that they may discover their own path and their own personality. I see myself as a custodian of this right and I look forward to meeting your child and helping them to discover who it is they are meant to be.
