Jennifer Dunne
AMI Casa guide
Jennifer was born in Dublin, Ireland, and has lived and worked all over the world. She holds a degree in Music and Philosophy, as well as a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Classical and Computer Animation. After working as a Project Manager and in Client Services for a BBDO agency in Dublin, Jennifer discovered Montessori through a friend and decided to return to study as a teacher.
She earned her AMI Casa Diploma in Dublin in 2013 and accepted a position at the International Montessori School in Hong Kong. There, she spent six years working in the Matterhorn Classroom and eventually became a Campus Lead Guide and mentor. In 2018, Jennifer was invited to give a seminar on The Intangible Classroom at the IMS IMC Conference in Hong Kong. The following year, she moved to Portugal to join Lisbon Montessori School.
Jennifer was proud to launch the Casa program at LMS, beginning with the Girassol Class in 2019. She left in 2021 to start her own family and is excited to return to LMS and to the classroom in 2025 for her ninth year as a Casa Guide. Always eager to deepen her practice and knowledge, she is currently exploring new ways to support the daily practice of observation, a cornerstone of the Montessori Method.
Jennifer considers being surrounded by children each day an enormous privilege and finds she is most herself when guiding Casa children to become their most natural selves. She loves art, music, and being extremely silly, and she has recently discovered yoga videos on YouTube—which make her feel both very young and very old at the same time.
